About

FROGGLE is a tactical turn-based roguelite inspired by Balatro, Slay the Spire, and Inscryption. It's up to you to save a tadpole named Tapo from having his first birthday ruined. Command a party of 2–3 frogventurers through 20 alternating floors of combat and Mystery Encounters, fighting portal-invading enemies with a deck of action sigils, a growing roster of permanent upgrades, and just a dash of luck on the d20.

The combat is delightfully strategic thanks to broken build combinations, and the hand-drawn encounters between fights can swing a run either way. FROGGLE moves fast — the first combat of every run guarantees at least three level-ups, so you're right back in it, and before long you'll be saying "wait, I can do that?!" Die early? Great: spend that gold to start the next run even more OP. Reach Floor 20 to unlock FROGGED UP mode, and the game really begins. Built for Windows, Mac, and Steam Deck, with full controller support.

Key Features

  • Game-Breaking Combos — 10 unique action sigils with unlimited combo potential (Attack, Shield, Heal, Grapple, Alpha, Ghost, D20, Expand, Asterisk, Star), across 4 playable heroes with a secret 5th to unlock. Combine advanced sigils to create some truly broken capabilities!
  • The D20 Roll — all heroes can roll to swing any battle at any time with a lucky dice roll. Each hero even has their own Nat 20 Ultimate Ability — one lets you recruit almost any foe to your side!
  • Mystery Encounters — each with an unlockable second stage with its own art and music — break up combat and offer a chance at run-changing rewards!
  • Two Progression Layers — level up early and often with per-run XP upgrades, and earn gold for permanent upgrades that persist across every run. Beat Standard to unlock FROGGED UP mode — this is where the game actually starts.

Inspirations

"Nothing feels more 'delightfully breakable' than getting your first 'e' in Balatro, and I try to bring some of that same 'I AM GOD NOW' magic into FROGGLE."

  • Slay the Spire — the dungeon-crawling style, with combats interspersed with Mystery Encounters.
  • Inscryption — broken sigil combos, plus fun secrets and easter-egg bonuses.
  • Balatro — the multiplicative factor, difficulty scaling, and late-game content.
